The Salesmanship Club of Dallas, in partnership with Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas, is in its 41st year as the host organization of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. EDS is in its sixth year as title sponsor. Through the Championship, the Salesmanship Club has raised more money for charity than any other PGA TOUR event. In 2007, the Club received the prestigious Bing Crosby Tournament Sponsor Award from the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association, recognizing their efforts to promote and support the game of golf.

Proceeds from the EDS Byron Nelson Championship benefit Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers (SCYFC), a nonprofit organization that is helping transform children’s futures by providing education and mental health services for children and families in the Dallas area. SCYFC received more than $6.4 million as the Championship’s beneficiary in 2007. More than $101 million has been raised for charity since the tournament’s inception.

The Tournament Players Course is one of just 30 TPC facilities in the country made popular in the 1980s by former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman. The TPCs are among the finest golf facilities found anywhere in the world. The current configuration of the TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas was created in 1985-86 by renowned golf course architect Jay Morrish in consultation with Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw. The course was completed in just under 12 months, a Herculean task and just in time to host the 1986 Byron Nelson Golf Classic. The par-70 TPC is 7,022 yards from the championship tees and offers bermuda grass fairways and bentgrass greens.
