The Missouri Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks accepted an invitation to play in the 72nd edition of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Day. The No. 7 ranked Tigers (11-2, 7-1), the Big 12 North Division Champions, are making their first trip to the AT&T Cotton Bowl since 1946. Arkansas (8-4, 4-4) is making its 11th appearance in the Classic and its first since 2002 when the Hogs fell to Oklahoma.
The 2008 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic will be nationally televised on FOX, and kickoff is set for 10:40 a.m.

This annual event kicks off the 112th Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show at Will Rogers Memorial Center. Linda McLemore, visual artist and head of ArtSpirit, a Dallas non-profit arts organization dedicated to fostering the development of spirituality and change through the arts, addresses the problem of finding appropriate ways to recycle Styrofoam. "Styrofoam may look harmless, but it really is not," states Ms. McLemore. According to studies, the recycling industry cannot make a profit recycling this material, so it just piles up indefinitely in landfills, along the side of the road, and in lakes and rivers.

The call is going out: In an effort to give the fans attending Sunday's NFC divisional-round playoff game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium a common bond, the Cowboys are encouraging the some 64,000 fans to wear white, wanting to create a "White Out" effect for the nationally-televised game. The club will be handing out promotional white rally towels to fans entering the stadium to further help this effort for the first home playoff game for the Cowboys since Jan. 2, 1999, when they met the Arizona Cardinals.
