The 2009 State Fair of Texas will be held this year from Sept. 25 to Oct.
18, 2009 at the Dallas Fair Park, a 277-acre entertainment and recreation complex owned by the City of Dallas,
which is located two miles east of downtown Dallas. The theme for
2009 is "All aboard for food and fun!", which is a tip of the hat to hospitality, good eats and non-stop good times, Texas style. It's also a nifty tie-in to a new route to Fair Park, along DART's Green Line.
The 2009 State Fair, its more than 70 rides, 200 food locations, unique shopping opportunities, college football, livestock shows, cooking competitions and the 2010 State Fair Auto Show.

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, the exhibition that drew nearly four million visitors during its two-year, four-city tour, will return to the United States for a three-city encore tour. Following the success of the first tour, which broke records at each of the four museums it visited in the United States from June 2005 through September 2007, the exhibition will return from its current London engagement to open at the Dallas Museum of Art in October 2008. The Dallas exhibit marks the first time these artifacts will be seen in the Southwest region. The current exhibition includes an extensive array of more than 130 extraordinary artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun and other ancient Egyptian sites.

Cottonwood Art Festival is a bi-annual event which features works from the nation's top visual artists. Located in scenic Cottonwood Park in Richardson, Texas, this prestigious art show is now entering its 39th year. This

The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic features a match up between the
Prairie View A&M University Panthers and the
Grambling State University Tigers.
The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic is the largest African
American event in Texas and the third largest African American
sporting event in the United States. Grambling and Prairie View will
face-off for the historical classic on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at
6 p.m. in the Cotton Bowl. The Grambling Tigers, lead by first year
head coach Rod Broadway, come to the Classic attitude of continuing
their winning domination of the contest. The Prairie View Panthers,
lead by head coach Henry Frazier III, at press time are riding high
on expectation of changing the traditional game outcome with a 2-0
