Now thru Nov. 1, 2009 - Autumn at the Arboretum - Great Pumpkin Festival (Dallas, TX)
Discover the rich colors of autumn at the Dallas Arboretum where over 150,000 flowers bloom every fall. Stroll through our 66 acres of gardens filled with thousands of chrysanthemums, fall blooming marigolds, coleus, salvia and more; come see the thousands of unique and rare pumpkins decorating the beautiful gardens.  Artisans Market which is the Dallas Arboretum’s annual arts and crafts fair will be included for two days only. This exciting two day event will be held during our popular Autumn at the Arboretum festival which runs September 19 - October 31. Sep. 25 thru Oct. 18, 2009 - State Fair of Texas (Dallas, TX)
The 2009 State Fair of Texas will be held this year from Sept. 25 to Oct. 18, 2009 at the Dallas Fair Park, a 277-acre entertainment and recreation complex owned by the City of Dallas, which is located two miles east of downtown Dallas. The theme for 2009 is "All aboard for food and fun!", which is a tip of the hat to hospitality, good eats and non-stop good times, Texas style. It's also a nifty tie-in to a new route to Fair Park, along DART's Green Line. The 2009 State Fair, its more than 70 rides, 200 food locations, unique shopping opportunities, college football, livestock shows, cooking competitions and the 2010 State Fair Auto Show.  For an adrenaline rush, the Thrillway offers the latest in X-treme experiences. Oct. 1 – 3, 2010 – Oktoberfest Southlake – (Southlake, TX)
This year marks the 9th annual Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Southlake's Chamber of Commerce! Attendance is completely free: no admission or parking fees. Booths sell a range of food & beverages, and artisans present unique, handcrafted shopping opportunities while you explore the arts and crafts booths. In addition to live entertainment events during the festival and the excitement-packed children's area, Oktoberfest also includes our popular wiener dog race, held on Saturday, October 2nd. Oct. 2 - 4, 2009 - 17th Lone Star Nationals Goodguys Rod & Custom Show (Fort Worth, TX)
Over 1,500 Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars and Trucks thru '72 will be on display. The event also includes vendor and manufacturer exhibits, Goodgals Gallery, Model Car & Pedal Car Show, Swap Meet & Cars for Sale Corral and a Goodguys Street Challenge AutoCross. Admission is $17 for adults and $6 for children (7-12). Camping is $35 per night, cash only, based on a first come, first serve basis. Camping opens at noon Tuesday, Sept. 30. Oct. 2, 2010 – 6th Annual Plano International Festival (Plano, TX)
The City of Plano and the Plano International Festival Corporation are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Plano International Festival to take place in Haggard Park in Downtown Plano on Saturday, October 2, 2010 It will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy ethnic food, multicultural music and dance performances, cultural displays, children's activities and much more! The Festival is underwritten by the Plano City Council and is designed to showcase the many cultures that make up Plano, Collin County, and their surrounds. Oct. 3 - 4, 2009 - 18th Annual Celtic Heritage Festival (Bedford, TX)
The Celtic Heritage Festival (CHF) will hold its 2009 celebration of the seven Celtic nations (Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Brittany and Galicia) on October 3rd and 4th at the Bedford Boys Ranch City Park in Bedford. For the 18th consecutive year the event will feature an entertaining blend of traditional and modern Celtic music, Scottish and Irish dance groups, expanded real Highland Games, a Celtic marketplace, children's activities, cultural workshops, Clan booths and historical reenactments, delicious food and drink, and even a Celtic dog parade. Oct. 3, 2009 - Prosper Arts & Music Festival (Propser, TX)
The 3rd Annual Prosper Arts & Music Festival will be held on October 3, 2009 in the Prosper Town Center from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. The Prosper Arts & Music Festival is sponsored by the Prosper Texas Chamber of Commerce. This one day event is free and open to the public. During the Festival we will have an art gallery of regional artists and crafters. Handcrafted or painted, one of a kind art and crafts will be available for festival attendees to purchase that day. The main stage of the festival will feature live music of local bands, solo artists and more. Several types of music will be featured such as jazz, gospel, rock & roll or country. Cottonwood Art Festival is a bi-annual event which features works from the nation's top visual artists.

Oct. 3, 2009 - 10th Annual Walk to D'Feet ALS® (Fort Worth, TX)
Now in it’s tenth year, the Walk to Defeat ALSTM is The ALS Association's national signature event. Each year, over 100,000 people including ALS patients, families, friends and corporate leaders join together to raise funds in support of The Association’s cutting-edge research and community-based patient services programs. Oct. 3, 2009  - Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic (Dallas, TX)
The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic features a match up between the Prairie View A&M University Panthers and the Grambling State University Tigers. The Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic is the largest African American event in Texas and the third largest African American sporting event in the United States. Oct. 3, 2009 - Flights of Our Fathers Fly-In (Terrell, TX)
The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum and the City of Terrell is hosting a Fly-In to honor the WWII British pilots who trained there and the American officers and civilian staff who assisted with that training. Starts with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Civil Air Patrol's Black Sheep Squadron @ 7:30am and opening ceremonies at noon will include the Color Guard & dignitaries. Oct. 4, 2009 - 15th Annual Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride & Concert (Arlington, TX)
While remembering the life of Stevie Ray Vaughan, enjoy a fun-filled combination motorcycle parade and blues concert honoring Texas’ most beloved bluesman!
