Oct. 14, 2007 - Libraryfest: Work Hard, Play Hard (Fort Worth)
Libraryfest is a free family-oriented festival that showcases the Library in a new and exciting way. The 7th Annual Libraryfest will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 in and around the Central Library in downtown Fort Worth. Authors, storytellers, musicians and other interesting folks will be on hand to offer discussions, presentations, workshops and entertainment. The festival attracts a diverse audience from the North Texas area with an annual attendance that has exceeded 8,000 visitors. When: Sunday, October 14th from Noon to 7 PM. Oct. 15, 2007 - Fort Worth Scottish Rite Double Eagle Golf Classic (Fort Worth, TX)
This years event will be held Monday, October 15th at the well-manicured Diamond Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.  To help us properly plan for this event, please pre-register by going to www.fortworthscottishrite.org   All proceeds benefit the Fort Worth Scottish Rite Foundation and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Oct. 15, 2007 - 2nd Annual Silent and Live Auction (Irving, TX)
2nd Annual Silent and Live Auction benefiting people with development disabilities through Association for Independent Living and Megan’s Crossing. Music provided by Fingerprints. Oct. 18 - 21, 2007 - Texas Rose Festival (Tyler, TX)
You'll be overwhelmed by the unbelievable aroma of hundreds of thousands of roses displayed in artful arrangements at the Rose Show, growing in manicured beds in the Rose Garden and covering hundreds of acres in the rose fields. Enjoy "tea with the Queen" at an annual community celebration. Relive the past in the beautiful Rose Museum; be enchanted by courtly costumes at the Queen's Coronation; and admire the artisans' touch at the Palette of Roses Art Show. Oct. 18 - 20, 2007 - 46th Annual Senior Citizens Fair (Fort Worth, TX)
More than 25,000 one-of-a-kind handcrafted items made exclusively by senior citizens. Proceeds go back to the seniors. Held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall in the Will Rogers Memorial Complex in downtown Fort Worth Texas. $5 admission, free parking. The smart fortwo, a small car with a big urban solution, is coming to the streets of Dallas and will make a stop at Mockingbird Station. Eager consumers will have their first opportunity to experience the fun and functionality of the smart fortwo. This event is part of smart USA’s “street smart” road show, a national tour to introduce the revolutionary smart fortwo to U.S. consumers. Oct. 20, 2007 - Maize Days Log Cabin Village (Fort Worth, TX)
Maize Days Log Cabin Village, 2100 Log Cabin Village Lane, Fort Worth. 817.392.5881. www.logcabinvillage.org 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. $3.00 for ages 4-17 and seniors, $3.50 for ages 18 and up, 3 and under free ($3 additional charge to make corn husk doll). Ears (of corn, that is) will be flying as the Village is alive with activities highlighting corn’s important role in 19th century Texas life and culture. Visitors can grind corn in a molcajete, smell delicious corn delicacies cooking at the Parker Cabin, learn about a “shucking bee,” and see corn processed in the Grist Mill. Make a corn husk doll before you head home! No reservations required.

Oct. 20, 2007 - Drop-in Workshop Day at Old Red: “Building Big D” (Dallas, TX)
Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture will be alive with hands-on activities for all ages. Based on the excitement of the Dallas skyline, activities include building 3-D models, exploring the unique character of downtown buildings, investigating historic treasures on our Discovery Carts, and playing games in The Crystal Charity Ball Children’s Education Center. Old Red Museum is located in Dealey Plaza at 100 South Houston Street in Downtown Dallas.
