Lake Grapevine in Denton &Tarrant Counties |

Lake Grapevine is a fairly small lake with about 7,280 acres of water surface. The main body of water is just north of the City of Grapevine Texas with the northern shores situated in Flower Mound Texas. Grapevine Lake is a Corps of Engineers lake located with it's water shed being the Denton Creek, a tributary of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River which was impounded in 1952. Depth varies about 5 to 10 feet each year with an average depth at the dam being about 65 feet with the lake having generally murky water clarity. Fish caught in Lake Grapevine include largemouth bass, white bass, white crappie, and channel catfish. The US Army Corps of Engineers is Lake Grapevine's controlling authority.
