Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)
Dart gets you around
Dallas and 12 adjoining cities with a modern lineup of public transit services and
customer facilities tailored to make your trip fast, comfortable and economical. Our
growing network of light rail and commuter rail lines, plus a fleet of nearly 1,000
late-model buses and vans, move more than 200,000 people a day across our 700-square-mile
service area. With a customer base that has increased every year since 1996, DART is
proving that clean, safe transportation, intelligently planned and professionally
executed, is a popular alternative to traffic jams and parking hassles. DART operates
nearly local and express bus routes serving Addison, Carrollton, Cockrell Hill,
Dallas, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Highland Park, Irving, Richardson,
Rowlett, Plano and University Park. To
get going, call DART Customer Service at (214) 979-1111 with your origin, destination, and
desired time of travel. Helpful operators will recommend the most convenient route and
departure time, quote the one-way fare, and advise you of any necessary transfers along
the way.
The T Bus Service
The Fort Worth Transportation Authority, known as The T, provides free, excellent bus
transportation throughout the downtown area. The Downtown Free Zone is bordered by
Henderson, Jones, Belknap, and Lancaster streets. Buses run approximately every 15 minutes
from 6:15 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. daily. The buses travel north on Throckmorton and south on
Houston. Regular bus routes serve the Fort Worth metropolitan area at a fare of 80 cents.

Trinity
Rail Express
The TRE links downtown Fort
Worth, downtown Dallas and DFW Airport. Scheduled train service is
provided Monday through Saturday. No regularly scheduled service is
available on Sunday. Special Sunday service may be promoted for announced
special events only. The Trinity Railway Express is a cooperative
service provided by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (the T)
and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
MATA
(McKinney Avenue Transit Authority)
MATA, a heritage or historical trolley system operates restored vintage electric streetcars, recreating how a real trolley system of the early to mid-twentieth century looked and operated. In cooperation with DART, it is also an integral component of 21st century public transit in Dallas. The M-Line streetcars wind their way through historic Uptown, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Dallas. The trolley route is dotted with fun restaurants, sidewalk cafes, art galleries, colorful boutiques, museums, theaters and lots more!
The historic M-Line Streetcar offers you a free ride up and down McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas, connecting the west entrance of Cityplace Station on the DART Rail system to the Arts District downtown.
Texas
Eagle (Amtrak)
Hop aboard the Texas Eagle, traveling daily between Chicago and San Antonio. Connecting service between San Antonio and Los Angeles is available three times a week via the Sunset Limited.
Some Texas cities included on the route are Texarkana, Marshall, Longview, Mineola, Dallas, Fort Worth, Cleburne, McGregor, Temple, Taylor, Austin, San Marcos,
and San Antonio.
Dial-A-Ride
(Lewisville)
The City of Lewisville’s Dial-A-Ride Transportation Service offers you door-to-door transportation Anywhere within the City and the immediate surrounding areas. You can ride any day of the week, anywhere — work, doctor, school, shopping, etc. Trained drivers are available to assist passengers in boarding and alighting vehicles specially designed to accommodate the elderly and mobility impaired. By following the enclosed guidelines, your trip can be pleasant, relaxing and trouble.
